CROSSFADE - “White On Blue” (Release: 05.04.2004)
”White On Blue” is supposed to be one of the most wonderful westcoast albums ever recorded! The swedish band consists of well known and experienced musicians and producers and the album sounds like a monster production! First of all there is Göran Edman on vocals (YNGWIE MALMSTEEN, STREET TALK, KHARMA, MADISON), Per Lindval on drums and percussion played with everyone that´s something in Scandinavia and is considered to be the best drummer up there. He works with everybody from ABBA to Michael Ruff, singer songwriters to Big Band and he´s been touring lately with A-HA. Sven Lindvall on Bass also a session player and producer, also tours with A-HA at the moment. Lars Hallbäck on guitars has played in bands since the 70`s when he was in Hard Rock acts, during the 80´s AOR type band and founder of CROSSFADE together with Richard. Also worked in studios, as producer and engineer and engineered and Produced the ”White On Blue” album together with Richard. Richard Stenström on keyboards is one of the best keyboardplayers and he has also played in a lot of sessions. There are a lot of more musicians (vocals, horn section) involved into CROSSFADE which will be introduced later. CROSSFADE is a absolute highlight !
ROCK IT Magazine about the album:
"Musicality times 10, hitpotential, atmosphere, merciless good production - for AOR and Westcoast fans 2004 all this is included in just one name: CROSSFADE!“

Here in Japan, Nippon Crown Records will release this great album a little bit earlier. Release date is now scheduled on 1st April. (CD catalog #: CRCL-4581).
Brenda Russell's new album entitled "Between The Sun And The Moon" will be on the street on March 31 here in Japan by Nippon Columbia. (Brenda signed to UK-based R&B label Dome Records in 2003 and was working the new CD both in L.A. and in London, with one song, "It's A Jazz Day," already included on Dome's 2003 UK 'best of' compilation CD "So Good, So Right". )
Today, Frédéric Slama revealed how his forthcoming CD will be as follows:-
Gary Portnoy, the singer / songwriter best known for "Where Everybody Knows Your Name", the theme from "Cheers" the longest running comedy series aired from 1982-1993. Gary has just released his brand-new album titled "Keeper". The eleven new songs on this album, were co-written and co-produced by Gary Portnoy and Gloria Nissenson. They recorded those materials in New York and Nashville in the summer and fall of 2003. It is reviewed that, on the eleven tracks, they deal with love found (Simple) and lost (Exitwounds). They wistfully reflect on the past (What Day) and poignantly celebrate the present (The Best Days) through the eyes, heart, and soul of a grown-up making peace with his life. I have just ordered my own copy and not received as yet. But as far as I listened to sound samples, this brand new album is really good timeless pop music with a rich melodies.
Sometimes it's fun to just write and record good music with good friends for the fun of it and not be so pretentious about it.This project started with well known Swedish guitarist/song writer/producer Tommy Denander. When Tommy and his partner Chris Demming (AOR, SPIN GALLERY) had written a lot of cool songs for various artists and found themselves with a lot of very good but unused AOR songs. They decided to make an album with those songs featuring many familiar names such as Jan Johansen (IGNITION), Jamie Meyer (Popstars),
Now, BMG Sweden publishes the new artworks for Peter Friestedt's "LA Project" re-release CD. The re-release date will be sometime in early spring!
