Keith Howland, the current guitarist of Chicago has just released his 2 solo projects' live CD's, both of which were recorded on consecutive nights at the world famous jazz
club "The Baked Potato" in North Hollywood California on November 3rd and 4th. November 2003!
The first one is "The Howland/ Imboden Project - Live At The Baked Potato " and the other is "Howland, Laug, Morrison & Pinnick / Live At The Baked Potato".
With reference to those release, Keith Howland commented as follows:-
"Hey everyone! Some of you were aware of the live shows that HIP and HLMP did in LA back in November 2003 but were geographically unable to attend. Well, now you can hear exactly what happened on those two autumn nights! Tape was rolling and I captured some real magical moments from both bands. Tris was on fire for the HIP night as well
as Steve Weingart, and Chris Pinnick (remember the Chi 16 & 17 tours?) was his usual "turn it up a notch" live playing self on the HLMP night. "
Further, Keith continues:-
"Each CD contains high energy versions of the tunes from the
studio releases plus each band performs a few cuts from the other bands record as well. The HIP band consisted of Tris Imboden, Lance Morrison, Steve Weingart and myself and the HLMP band was obviously myself (Howland), Matt Laug, Lance Morrison, Chris Pinnick and special guest Jeff Babko on keys. If you are a fan of improvisation and spontaneity (remember Chi 7?) then you need to check these out. Almost 74 minutes of music on each CD and all for less than the cover charge at the club that night! See you all this summer..."
