The Madrid based company CONTANTE & SONANTE now announced that they proudly presents "The Songwriter Series" CD's. The Songwriter Series shares with you a collection of beautiful songs as they were originally conceived of, and produced by, their writers. We release songs by some of the most well-known contemporary songwriters of our time, and we are also pleased to showcase songs by some
truly talented writers from around the world whose work is as of yet unrecognized by the wide
audience it deserves. Whenever a song is recorded by an artist other than the songwriter, it is inevitably subjected to the influences of both the recording artist and the producer. Sometimes the original essence, and even the meaning, of a song is changed. The Songwriter Series aims to share with you the original incarnations of these songs; the demos. Whether delicate or raw, richly orchestrated or bare-bones, the recordings here are true to the vision of their creators: the songwriters.

The first CD to open this Series is Steve Dorff Original Demos.

Released in a limited numbered edition of only 1.000 copies, this album includes thirteen original Steve Dorff demo songs, beautifully enhanced by the soulful, unforgettable voice of Warren Wiebe .

Hello friends,

Many of you have emailed me to find out what,s going on with
me. Here's the latest.

I just returned from a mini tour in Canada with Bill Champlin.
We recorded some background vocals on an album By Steve Archer, a wonderful singer. Some of you may remember back in the day, I competed on the very first shows of Star Search (early 1980's). Steve Archer was the first singer I competed with. Who knew I would be a pioneer in reality TV . I then went on to do the next two shows until I went down in flames. Speaking of flames, that was the year Sam Harris won the big money. Now, back to Canada. After a tearful reunion with Steve, Bill and I proceeded to
the studio and recorded several tracks on Steve Archer's upcoming album. We also played a show in Calgary with a local band. Bill and I rehearsed the band, learning some of our tunes.
When it was showtime, we took turns hogging the stage. What a night.

Richard Marx New Album coming in August!

Richard Marx new album "My Own Best Enemy" (EMI Manhattan Records) is now scheduled to be on sale in August.

Joseph Williams Update

Joseph Williams, former singer of TOTO and currently the singer behind the VERTIGO project, recently performed successfully at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York, together with long-time friend and manager Joey Carbone on keyboards and AOR cult-hero Richie Zito (Heart, Bad English, White Lion, Eddy Money, Cheap Trick etc.) on guitar, with New York musicians Mark Patasian on drums, Tony Ventura on bass joined by Sly on sax.
The group performed Toto's hits "Rosanna", "Hold the Line" , "Can you Feel the Love Tonight" from the "Lion King" soundtrack, "Angel Eyes" (composed by Joey Carbone) and "Scream and Shout" (composed by Williams and Carbone).
"Angel Eyes" and "Scream and Shout" will appear in the soundtrack for the upcoming movie "Tony'n'Tina's Wedding", which is known as one of the longest running off broadway show.

On a related note, Joseph and Joey will start working on a second Vertigo album during the summertime, which is confirmed by Frontiers Records, Italy.
